Painted with Bible verses as a brush.
Whilst searching flickr, I stumbled upon this work by a guy called Mark Lawrence, based in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Mark uses digital in his process, but splits it out by using a natural medium painting as a guide for a program to repaint the image digitally. The program can sometimes be run for as long as a couple of days and uses a typeface as a brush to write verses from the Bible….overlapping many times over until it takes on a new aesthetic.
Look at this to see how it’s done.
His use of colour & line movement is very emotive and it’s encouraging to see someone use what talent has been given to him to give back to God.
I miss coding…I think I might try building something this weekend…
